January Weight

After much mental back-and-forth, I have decided to track monthly weights like I did for several years before I started gaining again last winter.

I didn't weigh officially (morning, empty) on January first, but my weight has stabilized and I've been checking occasionally, so I'm comfortable going with 152.

I think it's important - for now at least - to stay aware because my avoidance of the scale is because I'm gaining weight from emotional eating. I can't let myself go numb to it.

I also don't want to live for the daily number. Plus it's mid-winter, and I keep the apartment colder at night. Stripping and standing on cold glass is not high on my preferred activities list!

My Waist Trainer Has Arrived

It's a size too small, really, but I don't plan on staying this heavy (low 150's; I haven't taken an official empty morning weight yet this year, just spot hicks) long enough to blow $80 on a bigger waist trainer.

In general I don't support waist training - there's a bloody reason we don't wear corsets anymore! BUT my primary purpose is to see if the compression will help with the horrible loose skin I had when I got to the 120s last winter. A secondary benefit could be back support, as the physical therapist says the ligaments in my lumbar spine are stretched.

I'm guessing I'll be able to properly wear it after I've lost about 10 pounds. We shall see.
