5/25: The Final Weight: 50 Pounds Down

The last official weight I have is 141.4 from 5/25/15.It is the last weight I will ever have from the scale that showed my my high weigh and every number between then and now.

Fuck you, scale.

Shorty got Low Low Low Carb

Day One:

Breakfast: Oops, not up early enough for breakfast.

Lunch break: 3 pepper Triscuits 10 g carbs
Turkey, American cheese, and mayo on "carb smart" wrap: 16 g carbs

Dinner: Sausage gravy cheapo pot pie 41 g carbs
3 eggs scrambled with American cheese 2 g carbs

Hey wait, this is day one of transition and I'm actually kind of doing reasonably well?

69 g carbs at 9 pm.

I thought I'd be going crazy jonesing already, but somehow I'm not.

I bought a lot of low carb comfort foods for the transition so I could eat things that are allowed that make me feel good but won't ruin the low carb.

Top of the list are Oscar Mayer cheese dogs, mmm. I also got bologna to layer with American cheese because it tastes like childhood lol. If I'm getting really frisky I'll put a little ketchup on top, but you have to be careful with the sugar in ketchup.

Anticipated bedtime snack: 2-3 cheese dogs. I haven't looked at nutrition info yet but I don't think they'll be more than 1-3 g carbs each.

My low carb rule of thumb has always been max of 100 g daily carbohydrates, but fiber doesn't count toward that total because it doesn't affect blood sugar. I figured with the way I've been eating, I might need to have a more gradual reduction in carbs to keep from going hypoglycemic or having mad cravings. Fingers crossed it keeps going like this.

Breakfast: Diet Coke

Lunch: Half bun Burger King double bacon cheeseburger 330
Diet Coke?!?!? Dr. Pepper??!? WTF was in that cup??? It smelled and tasted weird and it had an aftertaste. That Burger King has Diet Coke that tastes off anyway, but I think they gave me regular soda or hooked up a wrong syrup or something, so I threw out half and I'm counting it as if it were regular soda: 200 calories (530)

Dinner: Nectarine 60 (590)
Sausage & gravy cheapo pot pie 450 (1040)
2 eggs scrambled with cheddar 250 (1290)
Fage Greek yogurt with honey 190 (1480)

Weight: Screw you, scale. Nobody likes you anyway.

Breakfast: Diet Coke and one mini York Mint. (50)

All the veggies and beans in the Pots o' Stuff worked their magic this morning.

Goal for today: Eat only the good stuff, however much I eat of it. That means whole grain, high protein, high fiber, low sugar (or sugar in whole fruit), etc etc. That way at least I won't be feeding tomorrow's cravings for junk, right? Right. Hopefully.

Lunch: Some sort of western bean soup. 360 (410)

Afternoonsies: 2-egg omelet with a handful of cauli, broccoli, onion, pepper scrambled in, and Monterey Jack cheese. 240 (650)

Oatmeal with a smidge of milk, a sliced nectarine, and (I'm kicking myself, but the nectarine was pretty tart) a tablespoon of brown sugar 200 + nectarine

:::runs off to look up nectarines::: Ok, roughly 60 calories.

Weighing every fricken food to get the exact portion size to calculate calories goes NOWHERE good for me, so I'm going to try to stick to my estimates rather than go that far off the deep end. So... oatmeal dish 260 (910).

Dinner: Cheapo pot pie 400 bulked up with broccoli 60 (1370)
Clementine 40 (1410)

Supper: Cranberry raisin bran 520 (1930)

Oreos 510 (2440. Feckall)

Weight: too lazy to undress before I laid into the Diet Coke

I have dinner & movie plans with Charlie and he's grilling. I will have no idea of calories. <stifles panic>

I think we're doing movie first, then food, so I'll have a few hundred calories beforehand so I'm not too distracted by my belly to enjoy Pitch Perfect 2.

Breakfast: Diet Coke

Second breakfast: Zoodles with parmesan, 2-egg omelet with 1 tablespoon sausage, handful of onions and red & orange peppers. 330

Lunch: A second Tempest's Pot o' Stuff 520??? I need to look up veggie and chicken nutrition info so the guess isn't quite so rough.

It loses depth in the photograph, but that's a good 4 cups of food, and less than 1 cup of it is rice. All of it is in my belly.

Fage Greek yogurt with blood orange: 140 (990)

I was struggling this morning with how to set things up around dinner with Charlie. I was ravenously hungry already this morning, and I don't want hunger to ruin my enjoyment of a night with a friend. My next thought (ED logic at its finest!) was screw today, eat everything! But every decision matters... every meal matters...

So I made a decision that is definitely not perfect, but is hopefully not so extreme as trying to eat nothing besides dinner, or eating everything in sight all day.

I get to eat. But eat healthy foods. My Pot o' Stuff has a ton of veggies, a moderate amount of whole grain, legumes for fiber, and chicken for high protein. I'm about to dig into the yogurt. My belly is full. The movie is in two hours so dinner will be in about 5. That's a reasonable time to go between fuel stops and not lose my marbles, right? Right. Hopefully.

Dinner was two grilled cheeseburgers with mayo and mustard, two servings of waffle fries, and a hard berry cider. I had a chocolate fluff filled donut on the way home. 500 each for the burgers, 500 for the fries? 200 cider? 300 donut? All total guesses.

2,990?? I hate not knowing.

5/15

Breakfast: the last Nexium, the last of my tummy pills for the H. pylori treatment.

Lunch: Greek yogurt with strawberry 140

Fage Greek yogurt is borderline orgasmic.

Sun chips (multigrain) 140 (280)

Tempest's Experimental Pot o' Stuff #1: 650 (930)

Probably less than that, but I'm being cautious.

It has a handful each of red onion, orange and red peppers. Two tablespoons olive oil, three cups of grated cauliflower ("rice") with a smidge of grated broccoli for color, 1 cup red beans, 1.5 cups brown rice, and rotisserie chicken. All seasoned with my first try of a Greek seasoning mix.

I possibly ovecooked the cauli rice (I like soft veggies) and rice so it looks mushy, but it actually tastes very good.

Oops, I finished the entire Pot o' Stuff. 650 (1580)

Official 3-Week Start Weight

136.4 135.0

Gack.

I'm going go focus on three intense weeks of workouts and nutrition management. Goal for the first week is 1000-1500 calories a day - exact goal will depend on how my body handles the change. I figure eating less for a while will give my stressed out tummy a nice break.

I have a 3-day pass to L.A. Fitness that I'll use today through Sunday to use the pool and hot tub. I don't think I'll get a full membership there because the sales guy was kind of an ass and you can't cancel your membership in the club - you have to mail something. Google reviews have some complaints about them. But seriously, he asked what my fitness goals were, "Lose weight? Tone up?" and when he was touring we went by the free weights and he mocked women bodybuilders. Not cool.

I did a huge amount of food prep yesterday and I'll continue working on it today. I chopped peppers and onions, cooked whole grain rice, grated cauliflower "rice" and a bit of broccoli in for color, cut a half ton of zoodles (zucchini noodles) for use as "pasta."

Nothing is cooked besides the rice. My goal today is to cook a bunch of the veggies, season them, measure them into meals with fresh chicken, and freeze them in single-serve portions. I'm also going to cook some oatmeal and save single portions.

I also have yogurt, cottage cheese, and cheese on hand. Lots of yummy fresh things. I even splurged on a half gallon of Oberweiss (from healthy well treated cows, minimally pasteurized, shipped fresh, no plastic/cardboard flavor contamination) milk to see if it's worth it. It is.

Rearing Its Ugly Head

The body hatred is back with a vengeance.

The weight is real. I have put on inches. Plural. Everywhere.

THE WEIGHT GAIN STOPS NOW.

I'm on my last day of antibiotics for the tummy issues. I have had to eat with them twice a day, which makes me hungry all day because I don't usually eat breakfast. Breakfast wakes up my hunger and it never goes back to sleep.

Current measurements: 34/30/39, ribcage 31"

I have just over 6 weeks until the Chicago trip. Just over three weeks until Goodwill Hunting day.

So, today is the grocery shopping, food prep, planning day. Tomorrow is action.

Ben & Jerry's Core Ice Cream

...is nasty. They're all NASTY. Except for maybe the spectacular speculum one? Meh.

It's sad, because I adore Ben & Jerry's, but I'm not risking it anymore. No more cores. I en't paying $5 and 1,200 calories for something that makes me want to upchuck.

I bring in May at 135. 137 is the crossover back to overweight BMI, and that AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. I'm still wanting to intervene with increased exercise rather than severe calorie restriction... but there's no denying I have to stop this emotional overeating. It's going nowhere good.
